Mythbusters and Smashlab

Posted on: January 16, 2008 11:01 pm

Alright I know this isn't sports related, but I'm not hanging out on Discovery.com most days so I'm writing it here. I'm a huge fan of Mythbusters, If I could pick my dream job it would to be a cast member. I'd love testing everything you can think of. For the most part I think they get most of the stuff right. Every once in a while a disagree with something they do etc etc and a lot of times they revisit it in another show because of feedback.

Now on to Smashlab, what I as Discovery Channel's attempt to cash in further on Mythbuster's success. There is one huge problem though, for the most part the show SUCKS! The logic in the show is horrible. Tonight they are trying ways to stop runaway cars etc... and none of their stuff works... funny thing is we solved this 50+ years ago. I used to drive home all the time in college from PSU and go down a very steep grade on 322. At the bottom of the hill was a run away truck ramp.... small hills of gravel that the trucks would hit and stop the truck... proven to work all across the country.. here these guys are trying to figure out away to do it and can't. Idiots.

Random rant I know.... sorry....

Have a great night....

Mythbusters and Smashlab

Personally,

I think comparing the two is physically impossible. I do like both shows, because in most cases something gets blown up, caught on fire, or shot in either or both. But, comparing something that is a big hit to something that just started is impossible. When Smashlab gets some more episodes under its belt then maybe I could give comment. Give it due, watching a shack/mobile home get obliterated by an airplane is pretty sweet. And Mythbusters, need I in fact say anything?
